Victorian walnut davenport before restoration

  Antique restoration of a Victorian davenport.

This good quality antique burr walnut davenport was in a somewhat pour state,
missing its feet and in need of a new leather. The serpentine front and the well fitted stationary compartment are desirable features.

This set of four antique tables had received flood damage and had to be stripped and french polished after repairs had been carried out

This shows the tea caddy before being restored This mid eighteenth century mahogany tea caddy was basically all there but just needed some general restoration. Caddies like this are becoming increasingly hard to find the mahogany tea caddy after restoration and polishing

 

A good quality mahogany chest of drawers that had water damage to the top, sides and feet .Probably made about 50 years ago

Edwardian Coal Perdonium

As you can see, this was in a sorry state and had to be fully stripped and then french polishing was carried out. The walnut underneath was of a particularly good color.A good challenge

 

This pedonium has a very good depth of colour.

 

This oak roll top desk was particularly tired and required severe restoration before stripping and repolishing. The tambour also had to be relined

This beautiful art deco walnut veneered table measures 10 feet x 3 ft 6 inches. It had suffered water damage to the top and had to be stripped, repaired and polished.

 

an unassuming piece of 1950s furniture

This 1950s oak desk is an example of how an unassuming piece of furniture can be transformed by simple cleaning and polishing. The interior was also releathered and the brass hinges replaced.

 This unrestored Victorian mahogany desk was in a sorry state. The crossbanding along the right side was missing as was some molding on a drawer and some veneer on the carcass, The whole desk then had to be stripped and repolished
